Speakers at a seminar held at Khurshadabad Girls High School termed peace prerequisite for educational and economic development in the country.

Addressing the seminar, Dere Ghazi Khan Division Commissioner Dr Saqib Aleem said, "Without peace, we could not achieve any goal. Dialogues are the best option for fighting terrorism and to find out the ways and means for the stability of the country." He was of the opinion that Ulema, business community, political parties and media should play their instrumental role for the restoration of peace because the country was passing through an extraordinary phase. He added that every section should realise the gravity of the problem and work for normalisation. Dr Saqib said that in the critical situation, social justice is direly needed for rooting out the causes of terrorism and for making the country safe.

DCO Hafiz Shaukat Ali, DPO Rai Zamreeul Haq, ADCG Rai Wajid Ali, DOC Malik Karim Bukhsh Joota, MPAs Hamad Nawaz Tipu, Ahmed Karim Qiswar, Imran Qureshi, Ahmed Yar Hinjra, DSPs Ahsanullah Shad and Bukhtar Chaudhry were also present.

The other speakers said that all the political parties should gather at one platform for the restoration of peace and desist from self-style politics. The DCO said, "We can overcome our multifarious problems by educating our younger generation because obtaining of education is the basic right of every male and female. The DPO urged the Ulema to come forward and play their key role in maintaining peace in the country. Under the prevailing situation, it is moral and national obligation that every section of the society should play its due role to steer the country out of crises. City Press Club President Muzaffargarh Dr Khalid Mehmood said that restoration of peace had become more essential for stopping the shifting of businesses to other countries due to the poor law and order.

Likewise, a seminar on 'National Action Plan' was organized to create the awareness among the masses about the implementation of the action at Jinnah Hall .

DCO Khizar Afzal Chaudhry, DPO Muntazir Mehdi, Information Deputy Director Tariq Ismail, Boys College Principal Shafique Ahmad, trader representatives, media, cable operators and a large number of students attended the seminar.

Addressing the seminar the DCO, DPO and Information Deputy Director highlighted the significance of 'peaceful society'.

They emphasised that no one could remain neutral in the war against terrorism. "The country's civil and military leadership is united against terrorism and militancy."

"We will not let the sacrifices of our soldiers and the blood of innocents children in Peshawar go in vain," they said.

Appreciating the efforts to completely uproot terrorism, they said that this was the real time to implement the National Action Plan formulated to fight terrorism.

They said that people should join hands to foil the nefarious designs of terrorists, while the implementation on the action plan would turn country to a 'centre of peace.'

They linked the survival of the country with the elimination of the terrorism. They said that terrorism was main stumbling block to progress in country. At the end, school children performed on a song against the terrorist cowardice.
