‘WIC providing proper healthcare’

Wazirabad Institute of Cardiology has received machinery worth Rs200 million for different purposes while the strength of doctors has also been increased, its deputy medical superintendent claimed.
About 2,400 patients were provided with medical treatment during the last three months in OPD, DMS Qazi Ghulam Murtaza. He added that modern equipment related to angiography, ETT, ECG and laboratory in addition to king size steriliser and heavy machine valued Rs100 million has been received and the installation is underway.
Moreover, he added, fittings for supply of oxygen and other gases in the emergency ward, emergency operation theatre and intensive care units has been completed and now is functional. Relevant furniture has also been supplied to WIC.
“Professor of Cardiac Dr Noorul Saba and angiography specialists and registrar Dr Mubashir has assumed the charge whereas senior registrar Dr Nazim, Senior Registrar Dr Abu Bakar and Medical Officer Dr Zahid Mehmood also well experienced.  
He said that OPD started working in November 2014. Medicines worth Rs20 million would be available soon after which the patients will be provided medicines from WIC free of cost.
