Bank Al Habib earns over Rs7.40b profit in CY15

KARACHI (PR): The board of directors of Bank Al Habib Limited (BAHL) has recommended a final cash dividend for the year ended Dec 31, 2015 at Rs3.50 per share, i.e. 35 percent.

According to unconsolidated profit and loss account, the bank earned a profit after tax of Rs7.404 billion in CY15 compared to Rs6.348 billion in CY14. The bank’s earnings per share surged to Rs 6.66 in CY15 as against Rs5.71 in CY14.

Profit before tax stood at Rs12.331 billion in last year up from Rs. 9.917 billion in the previous year. Markup income after provisions was Rs22.856 billion and non-markup income Rs 27.367 billion end of CY15. The Annual General Meeting of the bank will be held on March 28.

PSPC team back home after attending IWS

LAHORE (PR): Punjab SaafPani Company (PSPC), Project and Technical team has returned after representing PSPC at International Water Summit (IWS) held in Abu Dhabi from January18-22, 2016.

The PSPC participation in the summit was aimed at exploring more avenues regarding state of the art technology, interaction with international contractors specializing in the field of safe drinking water supply solutions.

PSPC team participated in the summit following the initiative of PSPC CEO, Waseem Ajmal Chaudhary, and in its quest for technologically sound, economically viable and socially acceptable multiple solutions for wide variety of water quality in Punjab.

MOL Pakistan lifts spirits of special persons

Exporters to access global markets with USAID help

LAHORE (PR): The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), through the US-Pakistan Partnership for Agricultural Market Development, is sending a Pakistani delegation to participate in the 7th Penang International Halal Expo and Conference, which will be held in Malaysia January 29-31, 2016. The delegation’s participation in this expo is part of a broader effort by USAID to link Pakistani agricultural exporters with high-end markets abroad.

“Events such as the Penang Expo are critical for showcasing Pakistan’s agricultural strengths in kinnow and halal meat production,” said Dr. Hamid Jalil, the U.S.-Pakistan Partnership for Agricultural Market Development’s private sector engagement expert. “This visit is bound to connect our processors with new buyers, leading to an increase in our exports to the region.”

USAID launched the U.S.-Pakistan Partnership for Agricultural Market Development in February 2015 to boost domestic and international sales of Pakistani agricultural products, including meat, vegetables, mangoes, and citrus. The partnership also aims to improve technical capacity of Pakistani agricultural processers, thereby increasing their production. This partnership promotes cooperation among farmers, processers, exporters, ancillary service providers, and buyers of agricultural products from Pakistan.
