LAHORE - GC University Lahore’s Senior Librarian Muhammad Naeem has appreciated Dr Afzal, Prof Emeritus, University of Kuwait, for donating his personal library to the country's prestigious educational institution.  The GCU library already has a collection of more than 150,000 books donated by 55 reputed personalities. The donors included Prof Sufi Tabassam, Prof Qayyum Nazar, Ashfaq Ahmad, Bano Qudsia, Dr Ebadat Brailvi, Dr Waheed Qureshi, Abdullah Malik, Dr Sohail Ahmed Khan, Dr Zaheer Ahmed Siddiqui, Malik Meraj Khalid and Dr Syed Moeenur Rahman.

GCU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Amir Shah also paid special thanks to Dr Afzal. He said this was a very good tradition that people donate valuable personal collections to GCU library in view of its services to researchers.  Senior Librarian Muhammad Naeem said these books are highly valuable for users and the light of knowledge and research would keep flourishing through these publications.

He paid special thanks to Dr Afzal for selecting GC University Lahore to donate his precious collections.

Dr Nauman Aftab, Associate Professor, Institute of Industrial Biotechnology, said people donate their personal libraries to the GC University keeping in view its splendid traditions. He said that people were attracted to this institution due to its vital role for the promotion of learning and research in the community.

It is said that the GC University’s library comprises all donated books.
