Khosa announces Rs100m grant for CPSP

LAHORE - The 44th convocation of College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) held here on Wednesday. As many as 300 doctors were awarded with the fellowship and 75 were awarded with the membership of the college. Fellowship of the college (without examination) was also awarded to the eminent figures of the medical profession for rendering meritorious services which include, Prof Faisal Masood, Prof Zahida Baqai, Prof Shaheena Asif, Prof Tahir Ahmad Shah, Prof Yasmin Rashid, Prof Laiq Hussain, Prof Anwaar A Khan, Prof Atia Mub-arak, Prof Mumtaz Maher, Prof Jawad Sajid Khan, Dr M Khalid Nawaz, Brig Jawad Khalid Ansari, Prof Ijaz Hussain Shah Bukhari, Prof M Saeed, Dr Faisal Sultan, Brig Zafar Iqbal and Prof Mustafa Kamal. The chief guest of the ceremony Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa commended the services of CPSP and assured the full cooperation of the government. He said the services of CPSP are commendable. He announced the grant of Rs100m for CPSP and expected that the college would cooperate with the government in providing specialist doctors to the remotest areas of the province at district and tehsil level. President CPSP Prof Zafar Ullah Chaudhry congratulated the recipients of fellowship and said more than 85 per cent specialists of CPSP are providing medical services across the country. The degree of CPSP is recognised due to its structured training programme and it is amongst the top seven degrees of the world. The CPSP has turned as a role model for Muslim World, he added. He expected that the recipients of fellowship would utilise their energies in serving the country and the nation. He appreciated role of Punjab govt especially the interest showed by the Secretary Health towards department of health and medical education.
