LAHORE - Chief Operating Officer, Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) Fazal Abbas Maken held a meeting with Dr. Gregor Schotten, Counselor of Political & Economic Affairs Germany, to discuss and explore Pak-German Trade Relations and other matters of mutual interest at PBIT office here on Wednesday. Fazal Abbas Maken welcomed the German guest and highlighted the key areas mutually beneficial to both countries including textile trade, exchange programs for vocational training and enhancing exports to Germany. Dr. Gregor Schotten endorsed PBITs perspective by reciprocating similar views and further highlighting points of cooperation such as transfer of experts to build technical capacity, potential joint ventures in specific areas of Energy and Automobile sectors. Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) has facilitated the Dr. Gregor Schotten with knowledge of investment opportunities in the province. In order to articulate interest, the investment projects and developed feasibilities have also been introduced. The German Counselor showed interest in opening of vocational institutes and transfer of hi-tech expertise and requested assistance in locating companies that could provide more input on it. Certificate awarding ceremony Trade Development Authority of Pakistan organised a certificate awarding ceremony here at Lahore office for the participant of a five days workshop. The objective of the workshop was to train businessmen in this sector about the basics of exports. It was a five days feature with over fifty participants who also debated on the Gems and Jewellery promotion. Director TDAP Mrs. Yasmeen Kuraishi, Regional Chairman and Vice President FPCCI Mian M Idrees, and M Ahmad Chairman Standing Committee on Gems and Jewellery also spoke on this occasion.
