National Bowling C'ship begins

KARACHI The 8th Royal Rodale Open National Bowling Championship, organised by the host Royal Rodale Club, began here Wednesday at club premises. Royal Dale Club, the promoters and pioneers of bowling in Pakistan, is organising the competition for the eight years. Recently a media briefing was held at clubs premises in which Asghar Rangoonwala, Managing Director Royal Rodale, gave details of the championships and the part played by the club in the promotion of sports in the city and in Pakistan. Aejaz Sheikh, Director Tournament Committee, Kazim Raza, Senior Member Tournament Committee, Aleem Agha, Senior Vice President, STBA and Ms. Janet - Bowling Player, professional Coach from Philippines was also present on the occasion. Players from all over the country have been invited to participate in the event. Players from Multan, DG Khan, Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi will be showing their skills and fight for the biggest cash prizes in the history of bowling in Pakistan. This year players from Kuwait, Philippines and Dubai are also participating. As many as 300 plus bowlers in all categories will appear in the four day event which will be contested in open singles, ladies singles, youth (Under - 22), Team (4 Players), doubles (2 players), expatriates / diplomats and beginners categories.
