ISLAMABAD Chairperson of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)s Women Wing Robina Irfan has urged the sportswomen to participate in healthy outdoor activities for the development of their mental and physical capabilities. She hoped that bankers, services and teams like PIA, KRL, PEL etc would form womens teams for further enhancement of women football in this part of the world and added that physically healthy players would actively participate in the development of the country. Robina, who inaugurated the sixth National Women Football Championship on Monday during Punjab-Islamabad Group-A clash, was talking to media here at Jinnah Stadium inside Pakistan Sports Complex. She hailed efforts of PFF President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat 's work for women soccer and termed it as 'Landmark. The FIFA gave freedom to individual countries to develop this sport among their womenfolk within the prescribed parameters of their culture and religion, said Robina, former Balochistan Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs. It is his Herculean efforts due to which the AFC had promoted Faisal to Chairmanship of the AFC Disciplinary Committee and allotted him seat of member in the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, she said. The participation of debutant Frontier College of Peshawar in the ongoing National Women Football Championship will strengthen the PFF Women Wing. She said the future of women football was bright and the registration of 42 clubs with the PFF was a healthy sign. The officials of local clubs are playing their part effectively while the birth of organisational teams will help us prepare for the Pakistan Premier Women Football League in near future, said Robina Irfan.
