An earthquake with magnitude of 5.3 jolted several areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces as well as Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on Monday.

The tremor was felt in Peshawar‚ Swat‚ Nowshera‚ Malakand‚ Upper Dir, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Chitral, Khyber Agency‚ Rawalpindi/Islamabad Lahore and Azad Kashmir.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the epicenter of the earthquake was located in Hindu Kush region.

The preliminary data released by the USGS showed that the seismic activity occurred at a depth of 203 kilometers.

No loss of life or property has so far been reported from any part of Pakistan. However, people came out of their houses in panic.
