HAFIZABAD/SIALKOT

Five persons were killed and five others received injuries in separate incidents of violence and mishaps over the past 48 hours.

According to detail, in Hafizabad two persons were electrocuted while five other received injuries in two different places here on Sunday.

According to villagers of Marh Bashi, watchman of Govt Middle School 55-year-old Maqia Uddin got serious shocks when he touched live electric wire near the motor. Five other persons rushed to his rescue also received serious shocks. Maqia-ud-Din died on the spot while the others were shifted to hospital by the villagers. Another villager Noor Muhammad of Thatha near Kaleke was also electrocuted when he touched a live wire. He died on the spot.

Similarly in SIALKOT, Islami Jamiat Tulba Sialkot Ameer Shan Khan and activist Rao Ehsan drowned in Upper Chenab Canal (UCC) near Head Marala while bathing here the other day. Reportedly, they went to deep waters while bathing and drowned in the faster flow of canal water. The divers of Rescue 1122 fished out the bodies after hectic struggle.

It is to be noted that Sialkot-based two youths - 19-year-old Adnan and 18-year-old Arsalan had also drowned in River Chenab while bathing at Head Marala on Friday.

In TOBA TEK SINGH, a 65 year-old farmer died after being attacked by a swarm of honey bees in village Chak 90/JB near Gojra. According to his relatives, deceased Haji Muhammad Abdullah was on the way to his farmland on foot from the village when suddenly he was attack by bees and he received hundreds of stings as a result he died on the spot.
