ISLAMABAD : Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, Sikandar Bosan Sunday said that self-sufficiency in food and development of agriculture sector was priority of the government. Talking to APP, he said that the PML-N government would provide all kinds of assistance to the farmers to achieve the goal of national food security. The minister said that his Ministry would be reorganized and reactivated to ensure sustainable agri-sector development.
Replying to a question, the Minister said that he represent the farming community of country and will try to convey the agriculture research results at the door steps of the farmers to promote and develop the sector and further enhance the agri-production in the country.
Replying to another question, he said that steps would be taken for the development and welfare of the farmers adding that a proper mechanism would be evolved to enhance per acre crop output by introducing new varieties of seed and modern methods of cultivation.
