ISLAMABD - Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf Islamabad Chapter has reiterated to gather full support in favour of the party candidate Asad Umar for NA-48 bye-elections saying the residents of the city would once again repose their full confidence in the party's candidate in the upcoming bye-polls.

"We will take all initiatives for the accomplishment of our party chairman Imran Khan's mission which is not less than establishment of a reformed Pakistan, and would make all-out efforts for the success of our party candidate Asad Umar for NA-48 Islamabad," said Advisor to PTI Chairman, Dr. Shehzad Waseem, while addressing a party workers meeting here. The meeting was presided over by the PTI leader and candidate for NA-48, Asad Umar.

Dr. Shehzad urged the party workers and activists to effectively run the election campaign for Asad Umar's big victory, as was done for Javed Hashmi in the same constituency during the last general elections. While addressing the meeting on the occasion, Asad Umar said that after winning the bye-elections, he would prove be an effective voice of the citizens of the federal capital in the parliament and ensure legislation for the protection of their legitimate rights.

He appreciated the valuable support of the party leader Dr. Shehzad Waseem in his ongoing electioneering.

JI may boycott NA-48 by-polls

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) is weighing options to stay away from taking part in the by-elections on NA-48 Islamabad expected to be held in the second week of August, which was won by PTI candidate Makhdoom Javed Hashmi.

Jammat-e-Islami that had fielded Mian Aslam last time as its candidate in the said constituency, sources said, was seriously considering boycotting the bye-election for fear of rigging by the incumbent government.

The sources were of the view that a final decision about contesting or boycotting the upcoming bye-election in NA-48 will be taken in few days.
