PESHAWAR - Spokesman of government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shaukat Yousafzai, has disclosed that draft Right to Information (RTI) law which was earlier presented before the provincial cabinet on July 10, 2013 has been significantly amended to ensure maximum relief and access to government record to the public.

In view of the commitment of the provincial government and the urgency of the time, the amended draft will soon be presented to the Governor for promulgation, as an ordinance while it will also be moved in the provincial assembly within the stipulated 90 days so that is enacted as an Act.

The present draft/version of the law has been shared with a number of national and international human rights/civil society organisations and their inputs included due to which it, the present version will grab highest ranking at the international level.–Staff Reporter
