LAHORE (PR) - NTDC has energized 500kv new Gakhar - Lahore circuit-II transmission line on Thursday after rehabilitation of 8 collapsed towers  long with installation of optical fiber ground wire (OPGW). Tower No 37 to 44 were damaged due to heavy rains and storms.

NTDC engineers started the rehabilitation work of damaged pylons on Chand Raat (5th July 2016) and completed the task of assembling, erecting, stringing and energizing of 500 kV transmission line in 23 days. The work was an uphill task for NTDC staff and its engineers who worked day and night on war footing to complete it in minimum possible time in extreme weather conditions.

MD NTDC Dr Fiaz A Chaudhry has appreciated the pace of work and timely completion of damaged towers by NTDC officials, which will ultimately help in minimizing loadshedding for consumers of LESCO, GEPCO and FESCO.
