RAWALPINDI: Punjab education department has lifted ban  on the transfer of teachers which was inforce for the last one year.

According to reports, all the male and female teachers have been asked to contact the district education officers for transfer.

The notification about lifting of ban was issued on the 27th of July, 2016 which lays down new policy for transfer. Under the new policy, teachers would be able to file applications with the heads of district education department by the 13th of August. The scrutiny of these applications will be carried out from 13th August to 23rd August.

Orders for merit transfer would be issued between 24th and 27th August and they would be allowed to join their new duties upto 31st August.

Sources in the Education Department said in the first phase, Chief Minister’s directives would be implemented against the vacant seats in a phased manner.

It is worth mentioning that more than 2000 teachers have already submitted applications for their transfer.
