KASUR-The victim of police brutality, a TMA official reached a local court for justice after the police refused to register a case against their colleagues here the other day.

TMA official Habibur Rehman wrote an application to the District and Sessions judge, stating that he was supervising sanitary workers busy cleaning the graveyard near Bulleh Shah Shrine. Meanwhile, some police officials including Sub-inspector Muhammad Bota, ASI Tufail, Constable Mehmood Shah and a police volunteer Raza Younis came from a nearby Lorry Adda Police Check-Post and admonished him to stop cleaning the graveyard. He blamed that when he introduced himself to the policemen that he was a TMA official, they allegedly started torturing him without any reason. “When I wrote an application to the local police station, the police officials there did not register case against their colleagues,” he regretted. He demanded the district and sessions judge to take action against the ‘police brutality.’

When contacted, the police officials rejected the allegations levelled by the TMA official.

TWO ARRESTED: The B-Division Police raided a brothel and arrested two accused including a woman from Jamaatpura here the other day. The police, on public complaints, raided Naika Ayesha’s house and arrested Asghar Ali, a resident of Nooriwala, and a woman from Multan. The police also sealed the house.
