Young woman found shot dead in PC hotel

LAHORE: A young woman on Friday was found shot dead in Lahore’s Pearl Continental hotel located on the mall road, police said.

Investigators identified the lady as Rabia Naseer, a 24-year-old resident of Batapur and said to be the student of a local college. Her body was moved to the morgue for an autopsy. The woman was found shot in the neck inside one of the rooms of the leading hotel, frequented by foreigners and political elite.

The hotel administration immediately called in the police after a waiter witnessed the blood-soaked body lying on the bed. Police investigators say they also recovered a handbag, pistol, and bullets from the room.

It was not clear yet who called the lady to the hotel room, where she was discovered dead yesterday afternoon. The police asked the hotel administration to provide them complete record of the person who got booking for the room.

A police officer who visited the crime scene told The Nation that they were investigating to find out whether the lady was murdered in cold blood by someone or she took her own life by shooting herself in the neck. No case was registered with the Race Course police till filing of this report. Further investigations were underway.
