Nawaz to be shifted to PIMS as his health deteriorates

Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) team of doctors who were holding medical check-ups of the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif have advised to shift him from Adiala Jail to intensive care unit (ICU) immediately.

The medical board headed by Dr Ejaz Qadeer with cardiologist Dr Naeem Malik, Medical Specialist Dr Shaji Siddiqui, neurologist Dr Sohail Tanvir and Dr Mashood have examined Nawaz Sharif after he complained about the pain in his arm and heart.

PIMS team told media that Nawaz Sharif is not well and he is suffering from glyceride, cholesterol, diabetes and heart disease. Nawaz’s ECG was not satisfactory, they further added.

The interim Punjab Home Minister Shaukat Javed has decided to shift ex-premier to PIMS hospital for proper medical facilities.

Earlier PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif wrote a letter to caretaker Punjab government and ask to provide better medical facilities to him at Adiala Jail.

Nawaz Sharif was arrested along with daughter Maryam Nawaz on July 13 and was shifted to Adiala Jail where he is serving the sentence awarded to him in the Avenfield corruption reference case by the accountability court.
