Talking of misrules

After getting reprieve from the Supreme Court, Nawaz Sharif has blamed the dictatorial rule of recent past for all troubles of the nation. But the same Supreme Court was attacked by his cohorts 10 years ago ostensibly at his own behest. That event had forced CJ Sajjad Ali Shah to resign. Armed with more than 2/3rd.majority, he then went to President Farooq Laghari and pressed him to rescind 58 (2b) forthwith. Finally, he got rid of even the President and the COAS Jehangir Karamat. By midnight of May 28, 1998, he had frozen the foreign exchange accounts of all the private account holders because the total deposits of $12 billion USD were washed away mostly during his rule. Nawaz Sharif set himself on the path of dictatorship with the passage of 13th and 14th amendments. When Musharraf finally launched his coup, Nawaz Sharif was practically ruling the country like an Ameerul Momineen. After the coup, though, he was Aseerul Momineen, living for a year and a half in Attock jail. Looking at our history, My humble advice, therefore, to him and all the other politicians is simple; "Jai ga jub yahaan say khuch bhi na paas hoga/Do gazz kafun ka kapra tera libaas hoga". -M.M.
