KOT ADDU - The ATM cabin and furniture of a private bank gutted as the building caught fire due to short circuit. In the Tuesday morning, the security guard saw fire from ATM cabin. He called fire brigade and also informed the bank staffers. The fire had engulfed the building before rescuers reached there. The fire fighters then started throwing water on the fire. After 2 hours struggle, they extinguished the fire. Canal breach repaired: Breach occurred in a portion of the bank of canal Sardar Nala at Laar Wala. Local people themselves started filling the breach. Meanwhile, the RiazAlmani executive engineer, SDO and sub-engineer along with other staff reached the spot. With heavy machinery, repair of the breach completed at 4.00 am. The crops of cotton, fodder and sugarcane was damaged. The people urged the government to compensate the loss of their crops. Protest against TMA: A protest rally was taken out at Chowk Noor Shah against the Tehsil Municipal Administration on Tuesday. The disposal pumps do not work properly and sewerage system is badly affected due to development work in several areas. Moreover, the sewer water enters houses. The locals blocked the Chowk for more than 2 hours and then dispersed peacefully. Shopkeepers said that they complained for several time in this regard but no avail.
