Katy Perry could match a record set by Michael Jackson with her new single 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.). Perry has amassed over 34 million views of the songs video on YouTube, as well as shooting into the top five on the US Hot 100 last week. If she manages to secure the number one position on the US singles chart she will become the first female artist in Billboards history to have five number one singles from one album. Perrys previous singles from her Teenage Dream LP - 'California Gurls, 'Teenage Dream, 'Firework and 'E.T. - have all hit the top spot at some point over the past 12 months. The only other artist to achieve the feat is Michael Jackson with his 1987 record Bad, which spawned number one singles 'I Just Cant Stop Loving You, 'Bad, 'The Way You Make Me Feel, 'Man In The Mirror and 'Dirty Diana. Perrys 'Last Friday Night is currently gaining momentum through digital sales and radio play in the US following the premiere of the video. DS
