ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday said Pakistan People's Party (PPP) despite its clear majority in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections would adhere to the policy of reconciliation with other political groups. Talking to PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and federal ministers at PM Secretariat, the Prime Minister said PPP would take all the democratic forces on board on the national issues. He said the government's consensus and reconciliation policy was leading the country towards development and progress. He added that this policy was envisioned by Benazir Bhutto Shaheed as a future course of politics for Pakistan. Referring to the third and final phase of the devolution process, the Prime Minister appreciated the Implementation Commission and lauded the role of Mian Raza Rabbani for his commitment and resolute endeavour beyond party affiliations. He said various development activities being undertaken by the federal government would be completed for the overall welfare of the masses. He said minorities would not be ignored and a resolution based on consensus would be worked out for their issues. The federal ministers included Minister for Environment Samina Khalid Ghurki, Minister for Health Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Minister of State for Health Sardar Shahjehan Yousaf and Minister of State for Interfaith Harmony and Minorities Affairs Akram Masih Gill.
