MULTAN - Jamaat-e-Islami Punjab Ameer Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar lashed out at interior minister on Tuesday, saying it appeared from statements and activities of Rehman Malik that he was interior minister of the US and not Pakistan. Addressing gatherings of workers in Multan and Khanewal, he said that the interior minister used to release a pre-recorded message after every terrorism incident that Taliban were involved in it. He said that the conduct of Rehman Malik was highly condemnable and he should be removed from his office as he posed serious threat to national security. He further demanded the government to launch inquiry into Abbotabad incident. He said that the demand raised by JI was not based on army enmity rather this voice came out of hearts of all patriot circles. Declaring the entire political leadership American stooge, he said that the slaves of America were not willing to order a probe into May 2 incident. He said that the entire nation had categorically declared that the so-called war on terror was not our war but Gillani declared May 2 operation as Pakistans triumph. Referring to Azad Kashmir polls, he said that the elections were badly rigged by the rulers. He asked the government to form a commission under the chairmanship of a supreme court judge to launch a probe into allegations of rigging. He said that Nawaz League, PPP, Q-League and MQM plunged the country into a quagmire of problems. All of them are equally responsible for the woes of the country, he maintained. He said that the JI had launched a mass contact drive to make the public aware of evil practices of the rulers. He claimed that no other party than JI could steer the country out of prevailing crisis.
