PESHAWAR (APP) - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Usman Bilour and Afghan Consul General Syed Muhammad Ibrahim Khal have agreed on exchange of delegations for promotion of cordial relations between the businessmen of Afghanistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Afghan Consul General also held out assurance of issuing multiple visas to Pakistani businessmen on the recommendations of KPCCI. The agreement was reached between the two during visit of Afghan Consul General to KPCCI here on Tuesday, said a press release issued here. On this occasion, Vice President KPCCI Javed Akhter, and prominent businessmen including Zahid Ullah Shinwari, Engr. Masood Anwar Pervez, Malik Iftikhar Ahmad Awan, Ghulam Sabir, Abid Salam and Aftab Ahmad were also present. Speaking on the occasion, Usman Bilour said the business community of Khyber Pakhtunkwa is playing its role for promotion of commercial relations with Afghanistan. However, he added, the businessmen of KP are facing some problems in obtaining visas for visiting Afghanistan. Usman Bilour also floated a proposal of setting up a forum for resolution of trade related disputes between businessmen of Afghanistan and Pakistan. He also proposed for setting up of a joint chamber for promotion of bilateral trade relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Usman Bilour also suggested for setting up of a help desk at Afghan embassy for provision of facilities to business community of KP and for bringing the businessmen of both the countries further closer. Responding to the proposals of Usman Bilour, Afghan diplomat said Afghan embassy will release multiple visas to Pakistani businessmen. He also agreed on setting up of a joint chamber consisting of members from both Afghanistan and Pakistan. He said practical steps would be taken in this regard.
