FAISALABAD - Some five under treatment patients including two children and a woman died of scorching heat and indifferent attitude of doctors here during long hours power breakdown at Civil Hospital. According to sources, electricity transformer of the Civil Hospital Faisalabad went out of order due some technical faults. Meanwhile, generator of the hospital developed fault and stop working, leaving the whole hospital with out power. Due to the absence of the electricity the patients experienced worst nightmare as the power remained off for five hours. During the power breakdown, two under treatment patients identified as Bashir Ahmed and Sardaran Bibi died of scorching heat. Power suspension adversely disturbed the operations schedule and treatment of the patients. One person identified as Saddiq died due to delay in operation while two other children died due to non-availability of medical treatment. The heirs of the deceased expressing their grave concern over the tragedies, have demanded the authorities to take stern action against the Fesco officials concerned and hospital administration for negligence. They also urged the district administration and provincial government to repair the faulty generator of the Civil Hospital as soon as possible and ensure smooth power supply to the hospital to save the precious lives.
