Police arrest 16 criminals


LAHORE – At least 16 criminals, including eight land grabbers, involved in multiple acts of felony were arrested by the Capital City Police on Thursday.
According to details, Nawab Town Police nabbed eight members of a notorious group involved in different cases of land grabbing and booked them under Sections 448, 511, 147 and 148 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
SP Saddar Division said that the arrested men had been identified as Noor Hassan, Ahmed Ali, Qamar Zaman, Muhammad Ahmed, Zafar Iqbal, Ghulam Rasool, Muhammad Arif and Muhammad Ramazan.
Similarly, proclaimed offender in the black book Ehsan Ali of Mandi Faizabad, Sheikhupura, was arrested by the Quaid-e-Azam Industrial State Police while a top-10 proclaimed offender Sohni Khan of Islampura, Lahore, was nabbed by the Green Town Police. Likewise, a notorious drug peddler Siddique of Jaliana, Lahore, was rounded up by the Sundar Police.
Police have also recovered stolen vehicles, cash, gold ornaments and other valuables from the possession of the accused who have been handed over to the investigation wing.
Addressing a press conference, City Division SP (Operations) Multan Khan said the Shadbagh Police had busted the notorious Sheefa Dacoit gang.

He informed that the ringleader, Shareef alias Sheefa, and his four accomplices Imran, Manzoor, Abbas and Afzal had confessed to committing several crimes in different parts of the City. Further investigations are underway.
