ISLAMABAD -Lahore High Court (LHC) orders forced the POA interim committee to change the name of the 32nd National Games to National Games 2013.

In a hurriedly arranged press conference POA interim committee secretary Rana Mujahid, he informed the media that despite not receiving any orders from the court, the POA interim committee had decided to honour the verdict and change the name of the Games. “We will decide about the future action after receiving detailed court orders for the time being the Games will be called as National Games 2013,” he added.

When asked about the security arrangements, Rana said Zafar Abbas Lak was the in-charge of security. But when he was informed that the IGP Islamabad and other high profile security persons when contacted about the security plan, they told the reporters that they were not informed about anything. Rana said: “We have informed all the concerned persons and all the arrangements in conducting the Games in smooth and befitting manner were finalised and all those persons who were spreading rumours about cancellation of the Games must now stop talking rubbish and accept the reality.” “We respect court orders in true letter and spirit and expect from others to also follow the same. We will follow review appeal against the court orders,” Rana concluded.
