APC demands Punjab CM's resignation over Model town tragedy

LAHORE- Five-point declaration of All Parties Conference hosted by Qadri’s Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) demanded Punjab CM's resignation over model Town clashes which left 12 Qadri workers and two cops dead in bloody clashes in Lahore this month.
The five points of the declaration included, first Information Report (FIR) of the incident should be registered on the complaint filed by Minhaj-ul-Quran. The APC demanded that the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif should resign and if he does not tender resignation the President should seek Punjab CM’s resignation.
The statement added that IG Punjab, DIG, Home Secretary, DCO and CCPO should be sacked and arrested. The participants of the APC demanded formation of a full bench of the Supreme Court to probe the incident.
The APC vowed to extend full support to Pakistan Army in Operation Zarb-e-Azb against terrorist in North Waziristan. The participants of the APC also announced to extend their complete support for internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Talking to media on occasion of the conference, the PAT chief termed the Model Town incident as state terrorism committed by Punjab government. He said that APC was held on a single point agenda to discuss Model Town tragedy.
PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervez Ilahi said that the Punjab CM should tender his resignation for the transparent investigation into the incident. AML chief Sheik Rashid Ahmad said that all political parties would throng D-Chowk and a movement would be launched after Ramadan. MQM’s leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said his party believes in change of system and it will raise voice for change at all forums.
Delegations from Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), Jamaat-i-Islami (JI), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) and Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan (JUP) Niazi group, arrived at the Minhajul Quran Secretariat. Speaking on the occasion, Ahmed Raza Kasuri from All Pakistan Muslim League said that the government was setting a wrong example of governance. He said that the prime minister’s speech in favor operation was scripted by the General Head Quarters.
It is worth mentioning here that more than a dozen PAT workers were killed and 90 others injured during clash when police tried to remove barricades outside Minhajul Quran Secretariat.
