Dasu project’s 1st phase to be completed in 4 years: Musadik

ISLAMABAD : Advisor to Prime Minister on Water and Power Dr. Musadik Malik says financing of Dasu Hydropower Project has been arranged and its first phase will be completed in three to four years. In an interview, he said the project will help overcome power shortage, besides irrigating thousands of acres of barren land.  Musadik Malik said the World Bank had agreed to provide assistance for the 4,320MW power project. He said negotiations are also underway with World Bank, Asian Development Bank and other international financial institutions to start work on Diamer Basha dam project.
Dasu Hydropower Project is a run of river scheme located 7km upstream of Dasu village on Indus River, 74km downstream of Diamer Basha Dam and 350km from Islamabad.

 The Project is located in District Kohistan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
