The Met. Department has warned of extreme drought conditions in the South particularly in Sindh and Balochistan, whereas, the country as a whole could face 30 to 60 per cent less monsoon this year. Since Sindh is already suffering from bad governance, the people of Sindh are obviously worried about such warnings by the Met. Dept. The recent example of the Thar tragedy is a clear indicator that the Sindh government did not try to tackle the problem, before it became a calamity.

On behalf of the people of Sindh, I appeal to ex-President Asif Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, both being leaders of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), to have mercy on Sindh and ensure good governance in Sindh by taking concrete steps to combat the inevitable drought.

MOHAMMAD KHAN SIAL,

Karachi, June 26.
