LEAs nail dozens in search operation

Over two dozen suspicious persons have so far been rounded up by security agencies from different areas of Multan during a massive search operation.
Sources said that the law enforcement agencies including army and police troops launched operation in Basti Khuda Daad, Jamilabad, Aziz Hotel and adjoining areas and arrested suspicious persons who were shifted to Cantt Police station for interrogation.  Sources said that the arrested persons were being quizzed by special teams. Similarly, the security of Multan Airport and adjoining areas as well as Cantonment has been beefed up and special checking of vehicles coming in and out is being carried out.
The security has already been beefed up in entire South Punjab region as police set up pickets at the entry and exit points of all districts while army troops were also deployed in Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan divisions to foil any terrorism bid in reaction of operation Zard-e-Azb. Similarly, a joint operation and coordination centre headed by Major General Hasnat Amir has also been set up and the representatives of all other forces including police and secret agencies as well as district administration are made part of this initiative. Sources said that the raids are also being conducted to recover a sub-inspector of a sensitive institution Umar Jillani who was kidnapped by seven persons about a week back.
The security agencies have so far failed to recover him.
