SHEIKHUPURA
A large number of contractual employees of Punjab Irrigation & Drainage Authority protested in front of Press Club for regularisation of their services on Wednesday.
The protesters chanted slogans against the Punjab government, and said since they had been performing their duties in the PIDA for the last 14 years but their services had not been regularised yet. The Punjab govt had already confirmed the services of millions of other employees working in different departments, they said.
The employees demanded that the chief minister should intervene in the matter and ensure their regularisation.
