Former MNA Riaz Fatyana has criticised the government over paucity of funds for the completion of Kamalia-Harappa River Ravi bridge.
Talking to journalists at Kamalia, he said that the local MNA of the ruling party always opposed the project. He said that the bridge was almost complete with the spending of about Rs780 million except the construction of a link road. He alleged that the MNA was behind the stoppage of funds for the project. He claimed that he had made efforts to launch the project in 2009.
He announced to file a petition with the court for provision of funds by the government to resume the construction work of the bridge. He said that after completion, the project would facilitate the commuters and reduce the travelling time between Kamalia and Sahiwal, and also between Kamalia and Lahore.
