The Lahore High Court (LHC) has sentenced one-month imprisonment to Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shiekh Waseem along other three in contempt of court.

All the four leaders were accused of holding anti-judiciary relly and shouting slogans against the judiciary in Kasur.

A three-member bench of the high court headed by the Justice Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi announced the verdict which was reserved earlier.

Former MNA of PML-N Waseem, former senior vice chairman of PML-N's Kasur wing Jameel Khan, former Kasur Bait-ul-Maal chairman Nasir Khan, and former vice chairman of Kasur's municipality department Ahmed Lateef were also handed down Rs100,000-fine each.

Police arrested the four individuals after the verdict was announced.
