LAHORE Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed of the Lahore High Court on Monday issued notice to the Punjab government and other respondents to a petition which seeks stay of the auction of 26 shops and restaurant at the first floor of Park and Ride Plaza, at Liberty Market. Fixing next date of hearing of the petition for April 15, the court required the office to club the same with the main petition which has questioned the construction of the said plaza alleging that it was built on the land allocated in the original plan, for the development of a public recreational park. The court has already called for the production of the map of the original plan. The court after hearing the petitioner counsel Muhammad Azhar Siddique, remarked that the purchase of all shops in question would become illegal in case the plaza is declared illegally constructed in the long run of the case. It remarked the buyers must understand his loss and gain about the deal. The petition has been moved by Mohammad & Ahmed, shop owners Mohammad Saleem Hafeez, Mian Mohammad Haroon of m/s Hotel MelRose Inn, Arshad Kareem Qureshi of m/s Toy Land, M Zakariya Basheer Malik, Arif Mehmood of m/s Liberty Gift Center, Syed Dilawar Shah of M/s Alnafay Shopping Mall at commercial zone, Liberty Market.
