SWABI - Awami National Party (ANP) former provincial minister for Usher and Zakat, Zar Shaid Khan, tendered resignation from basic membership of the party after the ticket awarded too him for PK-31, Swabi-1 suddenly withdrawn.

In election 2008, he won from the same constituency.

Insiders said that the change in the decision has created a confused situation for the party workers. In a harsh reaction, Zar Shaid immediately tendered resignation from the party basic membership. He was followed suit by the office-bearers of union council Maneri Payyan and Salim Khan. Gul Zamin Shah who contested the elections 2008 as an independent candidate succeeded to maneuver and got the ticket for the same constituency.

After the awarding of the ticket to Zar Shaid, Gul Zaman Shah had regularly visited Mardan to meet Azam Hoti and Bacha Khan Markaz to convince the party leadership that their decision was not in the best interests of the party it should be withdrawn and finally he succeeded. When contacted soon after the decision, Zar Shaid said that If the party was giving ticket to a diehard worker he would have no objection but the person who recently joined the party and earlier contested elections as an independent candidate how became so dominant.

However, a number of the party workers alleged that he failed to deliver, lauding the party leadership decision to take ticket from him.

He alleged that the affluent people who hatched conspiracies and grouped in the darkness had harmed both the party and enthusiasm of the workers.

In this disturbed environment scenario how the workers could work. He said that he has been enjoying strong support in the party circles and he would continue his fight against those who involved in making conspiracies.

He said it was really a bad trend has been introduced in the party circles. In contrast Gul said that he did nothing and just put the entire picture in the front of the leadership and they agreed and the workers are happy over it.
