RAWALPINDI - A lawyer, appearing in Supreme Court of Pakistan in different cases and former president of Lahore High Court Bar Association, was mysteriously found dead with a bullet mark on his right ear in his mini jeep near Fauji Foundation Hospital (FFH) on GT Road here on Thursday.

On hearing the news, police high-ups and representatives of lawyers rushed to the crime scene. The police is yet clueless as no eyewitness has emerged so far.

The Rescue 1122 also reached the spot and shifted the dead body to Benazir Butto Hospital (BBH) for autopsy.

The deceased identified as Chaudhry Muhammad Khan, aged 65, resident of DHA Phase I, hails from Gujar Khan.

According to information, collected from police and sources, the deceased was on way to his home in his car. Meanwhile he was shot dead by an unknown assailant who fired a bullet on his right ear. “The bullet pierced into right side ear and came out from the other side,” a source added.

However, police could not find any substantial clue, which could solve the saga.

SSP (Operations) Israr Ahmed Abbasi, when contacted, said that police is yet clueless and is busy in probing the matter. He said that no eyewitness came forward to record his/ her statement to police. He hoped police would solve the saga soon.

Station House Officer (SHO) PS Morgah Abdul Sattar Khan, during a chat with this scribe, said the dead body had been shifted to hospital before he reached the crime scene. He said that his only seen the jeep standing on the crime scene.

On the other hand, a large number of lawyers and their representatives gathered at BBH where the dead body of Chaudhry Muhammad Khan was brought by the rescuers for postmortem. The relatives and family members of the deceased also reached the hospital and mourn his death.

“I am shocked and not in such state to speak with media. Will say just that the dead body of the veteran lawyer has been placed in hospital and doctors are making preparation for postmortem” said Chaudhry Taufeeq Asif, President Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), when approached.

Meanwhile, the politicians, lawyers, educationists and people belonging to various walks of life expressed their deep sorry over the murder of the lawyer and demanded of police to trace out the killer immediately.

At late night, City Police Officer (CPO) Azhar Hameed Khokher, SSP (Operations) Israr Ahmed Abbasi and SP Potohar Town Haroon Joya visited the crime scene and collected evidences there. Till the filing of this report, police was busy in probing the mysterious murder.
