LAHORE – The PML-N Central Parliamentary Board has finalised the names of candidates for contesting elections in Sindh, Khyber PK and Balochistan while the board is taking time to pick up the candidates for Punjab.

Addressing the ticket aspirants at Model Town Secretariat on Thursday, PML-N President Nawaz Sharif said: “Best person will be awarded party ticket and the persons who tirelessly worked to combat dengue, would be rewarded with due place in party.” He thanked Shahbaz Sharif-led squad that effectively played part in anti-dengue battle. The ticket aspirants on the occasion pledged to honour any decision of Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz on the award of ticket.

Reliable sources said the board, headed by Nawaz Sharif, has completed assessment of and finalised the candidates for the three provinces on the National and the Provincial Assembly seats and authorised the respective provincial president to announce their names. The board is taking much time to select candidates for the Punjab where the party holds high stakes to win the next election.

The sources say after holding repeated sessions to sort out names of the final candidates, the board on Thursday finalised almost all names from Multan and Bahawalpur. The board has instructed all the candidates to file nomination papers with the ROs concerned without waiting for the decision on the party ticket.
