SIALKOT - In Sambrial, hundreds of PML-N activists including local leaders took out a protest rally against the nomination of a candidate, who does not belong to the tehsil, at PP-131 Sambrial constituency, and also threatened to go on a hunger strike if the decision was not withdrawn.

Rana Dilshad Ahmed, vice president PML-N Sambrial city, and Muhammad Shakeel Gujjar, vice president PML-N Sambrial tehsil, led the rally, which began from Lorry Adda Sambrial and ended at Sambrial Morr after passing through all the main roads. The participants were carrying banners and placards and chanting slogans against the nomination. Later, talking to the newsmen, Dilshad and Shakeel Gujjar said that the PML-N provincial leadership had fielded Arshad Javaid Warraich who does not belong to the constituency.

They said that the nomination of was the basic right of the local people of Sambrial and any outsider was not acceptable for them. They said that the PML-N had decided to field Arshad Javaid Warraich by ignoring the outgoing MPA Liaqat Ali Ghuman in the constituency. They said that Warraich had been a very close aide of former speaker of the National Assembly Chaudhary Ameer Hussain who was then backed by the PML-Q.

Warraich was a big property developer and a leading rice exporter from Sialkot and the PML-N central leader Khawaja Muhammad Asif has brought Warraich in the constituency, they said.

The Sambrial-based PML-N workers and leaders have urged the provincial leadership to withdraw the decision and field a person from Sambrial.
