MIRPUR (AJK) - Top management of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) ordered immediate shifting of OPF Regional/Liaison Office Mirpur from the existing deserted site of Chitterpari to City Centre with a view to facility public including the allottees of the OPF Housing Sector.

OPF Managing Director Syed Iftikhar Hussain Babr issued these directives during a surprise visit to Regional Office located at OPF Chitterpari Housing Scheme the other day.

 “The OPF regional office should be shifted preferable on a main road in Mirpur city for the convenience and easy access of overseas people belong to the AJK region”, Babar advised the OPF Regional Director.

The MD also visited OPF Eye hospital and advised to make the hospital’s services vibrant for the expatriates including the dwellers of the OPF Housing scheme. He expressed satisfaction over the affairs and maintenance of the hospital building.

The OPF MD also met Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Medical College Principal and discussed the issue of early re-opening of the OPF Eye Hospital, lying non-functional due to a lack of required infra-structure since long. It was agreed by both of the sides to make the hospital functional as early as possible. The meeting also agreed that besides an Eye Surgeon, a Medical Specialist would also be provided by the management of the Medical College for the OPF-run Eye Hospital in the Colony. The Eye Hospital will host an Eye Camp for 3 to 4 days soon to facilitate overseas workers and their kith and kin besides the locals.

The OPF MD also visited OPF Public School in Mirpur city and ordered the organisation Finance Division to immediately provide a bus to the school for extending pick and drop facility to students.

He directed the school management for ensuring dispensation of quality education with prime focus on achieving better results in the annual examinations held by the Federal Education Board. He also assured early construction of Mirpur OPF School building in the OPF Housing Scheme Citterpari.

Earlier, the OPF’s top boss visited vzriouks blocks of the OPF Housing Scheme Chitterpari and advised the local office to explore the possibilities of construction of Community / Marriage Hall, Filling Station and development of public parks in OPF Housing Colony to facilitate its residents.
