ISLAMABAD - Pakistan finished sixth in the Junior Davis Cup Boys U-16 Championship as they lost the fifth position match against Vietnam 2-0 in Malaysia on Thursday.

Talking to this scribe, Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) president Syed Kaleem Imam said: “Pakistan can't maintain their brilliant run in the event as they lost their last three matches in a row, but I am confident they will bounce back in the next event.”

In the first match, Abdal Haider played against Bao Long Hoang. Abdal lost the first set 6-2 but then he showed some resistance in the second set before going down fighting 6-4. M Muzammil played the second match against Linh Giang Trinh, but he was no match to the powerful serving Linh, who won the match 6-1, 6-1. The doubles match was not played with mutual consent, as it was a dead rubber as far as the outcome of the tie was concerned.
