PGA elects office-bearers


LAHORE - OUR STAFF REPORTER - Corps Commander Lahore Lt Gen Maqsood Ahmad was unanimously elected president of Punjab Golf Association (PGA) here Thursday at the Garrison Golf and Country Club.
The general council meeting elected office-bearers for a next term of four years. The elected members are Lt Gen Maqsood Ahmad (president), Maqbool Max Babri of Royal Palm (vice president), Brig (retd) M Akram Khan of Garrison Club (vice president), Shahid Wahab Rao of Defence Raya Golf Club (secretary) and Imtiaz Ahmed of Garrison (treasurer). Lady member elected on ladies seat is Dr Asma Afzal Shami.
Elected members of the executive committee are Lt Col (retd) Tariq Kaleem (Rawalpindi), Dr Nadeem John (Sialkot), Lt Col Asghar Mehmood (Gujranwala), Akhter Abbas (Multan), Qalb-e-Habib (Faisalabad) and Khawaja Pervaiz Saeed (Lahore Gymkhana).
Zahid Sultan will represent the professional golfers on the executive committee. Lt Gen Maqsood Ahmed said he was a firm believer in team work and collective wisdom and considered this assignment a huge challenge. “I hope my team will take golf to new heights.”
