ISLAMABAD – Parent-teacher partnership can play an important role in the education of mentally retarded children. Keeping in mind the significance role of parents and teachers in self-dependence of theses kids, the election of the new body of Parent Teacher Association (PTA) was held on Thursday at National Education Centre for Mentally Retarded Children H-8/4. 

According to the result notification Professor Javed Iqbal was elected as President, Muhammad Amir as Vice President, Rohi Naz as General Secretary, Syed Farman Ali as Joint Secretary, Amina Riaz as Treasurer Secretary and Jaffery elected as Publicity Secretary. Likewise, 4 executive members were also elected whose names are: Abid Hussain Raja, Malik Akhter Hussain, Badar Zaman Qureshi, Affzal and Muhammad Sajad.

The newly elected president Professor Javed Iqbal said, “The education and training of mentally retarded children differs a lot from that of normal children. In order to achieve the herculean task of educating these kids, an effective involvement of parent-teacher in the education of mentally retarded children is necessary which can make a big difference.”
