KARACHI - A two-member bench of Sindh High Court (SHC) has regretted to hear a contempt of court petition filed against President, Chief Justice, chairman Senate, speaker National Assembly and federal law minister.

The SHC bench was led by Justice Irfan Saadat Khan. The petitioner Amir Haji Gul Ahmad of Anjuman-e-Islami Islah-e- Muashra took the plea in the petition that contempt of court proceedings are initiated forthwith against common men and junior officers and on the other hand dilatory tactics are used for proceedings against the influentials in this respect. If the influentials are tried in the court on the pattern of era of Khulafa-e-Rashidin then the justice will be seen to have been delivered.

The petitioner pleaded that the court had maintained in its February 17, 2014 order that the words "Allah ko Hazir Nazir Jan kar kehta hoon ke jhoot boloon to mujh per lanat ho" have been incorporated in the Constitution. As the aforesaid persons are party in this constitutional petition and notices have been issued to them thrice but these respondents are only following "sidqe dil se halaf uthata hoon" without the above-mentioned words and are subjecting others to follow it therefore, they have been found indulged in sheer breach of the orders of the court which falls in the ambit of contempt of court.
