ISLAMABAD - US Ambassador to Pakistan Richard G Olson on Friday called on Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and discussed matters of mutual interest between the two countries.
The Finance Minister discussed with the Ambassador his forthcoming visit for Economic Working Group in Washington DC, where he will hold meetings with the important US officials and attend the World Bank’s Spring Meetings. The Minister hoped that his meetings and interaction in Washington DC will lead to further strengthening of economic relations between the two countries. The Minister emphasised that an expeditious reimbursement of Coalition Support Fund will be helpful.
The Ambassador assured the Finance Minister that the US would continue to work with Pakistan for regional peace and stability. He briefed the Finance Minister on scheduling of his meetings with the US officials to discuss possibilities of exploring new avenues in energy and economic cooperation. He informed the Minister that all meetings have already been set and agenda has been firmed up. Dr Waqar Masood, Finance Secretary and Rana Assad Amin, Advisor to Finance Ministry were also present in the meeting.
