He said that he called Rescue 15 but not body responded then he phoned his brother and other friends who reached the spot and shifted him to hospital for treatment.

Hafeez alleged that his ex-wife Farhat Sultana and Khalid Malik, brother of Senator Rehman Malik, for sending the killers to end his life. “I have been receiving  threats for the last two weeks and two people also stopped me once at Soan Bridge and then near Fauji Foundation Hospital (FFH) and asked me to stay away from Ayyan Ali’s case,” he said. He added that he had registered complaint with Police Station Morgah about the incidents.

He claimed that her daughter was roped in the case by Khalid Malik but he was out to get freed his daughter from the clutches of criminals like Khalid Malik. “That is why Khalid Malik engineered a plan of my murder,” he added. He also appealed to Prime Minister and Chief Justice of Pakistan to hold inquiry into the money laundering case and provide Ayyan with justice. A heavy contingent of police also reached the hospital.

A female doctor told this scribe that surgeons would decide when the bullet would be removed from the shoulder of Hafeez.

Meanwhile, police denied that the complainant nominated any body in the FIR. Sub-Inspector Muhammad Nawaz of police station Gujar Khan, who is investigation officer, when contacted said that Hafeez told police that two unidentified motorcyclists launched an armed attack on him. Police registered a case and started investigation.

On the other hand, the Special Court Customs, Taxation and Anti-Smuggling extended the judicial remand of Ayyan for 14 days and ordered the authorities to present the accused on April 14 for further proceedings.

Earlier, the court told Ayyan that several people had submitted applications with court including her father Raja Hafeez seeking permission to meet her. However, the top model refused to meet anybody saying, “I will only meet my brother and lawyers in the jail.”

The court also questioned about the B-class facilities, to which, a senior official of Pakistan Customs Department Zargam Khan said that the model was booked under the Customs Act 1969 and was not entitled to B-class facilities in the jail.

Zargam also informed the court that investigation was underway and the charge-sheet would be submitted soon with the court. The judge ordered Customs department to submit charge-sheet till April 11, 2015.

The customs department officer, while talking to media persons, said that it has been proved during investigation that Ayyan Ali was going abroad with the dollars. “Attempting to smuggle is equivalent to smuggling,” he added.
