KARACHI  - Police claim to have killed four alleged members of Lyari gang war during separate encounters, late night on Friday.

According to police, Chakiwara police on a tip off raided a hideout where police personnel were faced with massive resistance. During the exchange of fire two gangsters sustained bullet wounds and died on the spot while weapons were recovered from their possession. Bodies were taken to Civil Hospital, Karachi for autopsies. The killed gangsters later identified as Salman alias Sallu and Arsalan alias Gollu. Police claimed that the deceased belonged to Uzair Baloch group and were wanted in various cases.

Cases have been registered while further investigation was underway.

Separately, another encounter took place at Khajoor Bazaar area within the jurisdiction of Kharadar police station in which two gangsters belonging to the Uzair Baloch’s rivalry group – Baba Ladla were killed after an exchange of fire with the police. Police said that the gangsters killed were identified as Abdul Majeed and Yasin alias Kana, adding that the encounter took place when the police conducted a raid in the area on receiving information. The gangsters resorted to indiscriminate fire on police. The police responded and killed both gangsters. The police also claimed to have recovered weapons from their possession. Further investigations are underway.
