Wheels and deals at Liberty

Mostly cars captivate us with their beauty, rarity and engineering and also with the memories they evoke. There are a lot of people who have keen interest in keeping vintage cars and some others are crazy in modifying the cars. Keeping a classic car can be a lot of fun but when it comes to maintenance sometimes it wrack up your nerve as well.

Every year Pak wheel calls all the car enthusiasts to show their exhilaration for their car at one platform through their show which is ‘ PakWheel Auto Car show’ .

A row of well maintained vintage cars, vintage bikes Volkswagen, Beetles, Mercedes Benz, project cars, sports cars were parked in a semicircle formation. Probably, majority of old cars in Lahore which have a sporty history were wrapped with engines that make them go like a bullet and would embarrass a pretty expensive and quick car with a loud exhaust mocking them in their faces. This year Pakwheels organized bigger and better event and received tremendous appreciation from people of Lahore.

Ali Zafar inaugurated the show with the cancer patients of Shaukat Khanum Memorial and research center. More than 600 cars, jeeps, sports cars, vans, heavy bikes, vintage bikes, luxury, 4x4 and modified categories from across the country were displayed. Vintage bike like Honda Cd 200, Honda Cb 350 , triumph 1963 , 1944 Norton, 1960’s and 1970’s vespa were adding exquisiteness to show. In project section youngster swapped different engines in their cars like h22a all motors project in Honda civic, d15b dual vtec in charade, 3sgte beams in corolla, Toyota 1jz turbo engine in Mazda rx8, 1jz turbo in Pajero, 4efte turbo in charade and sport cars like Ferrari 438gt, corvette c6, skyline r35, Lamborghini Aventador were the center of attention of the viewers.

Talking to the director of Pak Wheels Suneel Sarfaraz Munj, he told that their endeavor to organize such family festival is to bring smile on the faces of cancer patients and citizens of Lahore city.

Hanan Javed, an owner of a project car said, it was his dream to be the part of such a huge show.“Since my childhood I use to see sports cars and this thing inspired me to make my own modified car. I installed Honda D15b dual vtec in charade and made all motors project. It goes 180 in 14 seconds. For me my car is my baby.” he said.

The show provided a full day fun activities for the car lovers and families. Majority of the boys took keen interest in watching project cars and appreciated their modifications skills and talent of the car owners. The extravaganza was aimed to nurturing the automotive industry in Pakistan and to entertain and educate the people of Lahore about cars, auto racing.
