I Secondary School Certificate annual examinations commence across Sindh

LARKANA/KARACHI/MIRPURKHAS - Question papers are available for sale at Rs100 around the examination centres.
Around 116 examination centres have been setup in Larkana region, 22 in Kambar Shahdadkot district, 23 in Shikarpur district, 15 in Jacobabad district, 18 in Kashmore/Kandhkot district and 21 in Dadu district.
There was high-level cheating in the first paper and mismanagement of the BISE were reported at various examination centres. Thousands of cheating material was detected at different centres during the paper.
A Sindhi paper was leaked out within few minutes before the examination and complete violation of rules and regulations was observed in different parts of Larkana, Jacobabad, Kamber-Shahdadkot, Dadu and others.
During the examination, the staff and security guards were busy helping students in solving the question papers in and outside the centres. Students faced difficulties in finding their centres due to misprinting on the roll number slips. The Board authorities and police negligence were witnessed. The surveillance and vigilance teams were as usual absent from the centres. The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) annual examinations of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) were commenced here on Monday.
BSEK Chairman Anwar Ahmed Zia informed that 340,000 candidates would appear at 382 centres in the metropolis. The examinations would continue up to April 20. Anwar Zai said on the opening day, the paper of computer studies was conducted in the morning session. The afternoon papers were of Home Economics, Arabic, Persian and Braille. Zia said the papers started and concluded as per scheduled time and the attendance was cent percent. He stated that the Board has formed as many as 103 vigilance teams and of these 40 consist of officers of the local administration. He said he visited five examination centres in District Central and Malir and the arrangements were satisfactory. Section 144 has been imposed around the premises of the examination centres in the metropolis. There was a need to improve further the security arrangements at the examination centre, it was pointed out. On the other hand, the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Annual Examinations-2016 Part-I and Part-II began from Monday in all the 10 districts under the management of BISE Hyderabad.
A total of 132,402 male and female candidates are taking part in the annual examinations. In this regard, 217 examination centres have been set up in Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Matiari, Benazirabad, Dadu, Jamshoro, Thatta, Sujawal and Badin districts. Hyderabad Commissioner Qazi Shahid Pervez, along with the Chairman, BISE Hyderabad, Prof Dr M Memon and Controller of Examinations Prof Masroor Ahmed Zai visited different examination centres of Hyderabad to review the arrangements and vigilance against copying, cheating and using of unfair means in the examinations.
During the visit, the commissioner also caught three candidates red-handed who were engaged in helping candidates in copying in the examination centre. He asked the officials concerned to arrest these persons and ordered no entry of unauthorized persons in the centres.
The commissioner also directed the suspension of invigilator Mazharuddin Solangi on charge of his negligence and also directed the registration of FIR against a person who was solving the paper in place of the actual candidate.
Talking to media persons, he informed that the patrolling of Rangers and Police has been enhanced around the examination centre while vigilance committees have been formed to visit the examination centres and take strict action against copying, cheating and using of unfair means during the examinations.
EXAMINATION IN MIRPURKHAS, THARPARKAR DISTRICTS
Amidst strict security arrangements, annual examination of 9th and 10th classes was started here on Monday in districts Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Umerkot and Tharparkar under the aegis of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Mirpurkhas.
Strict security arrangements were made to ensure ban on entry of outsiders in the examination centres. Different vigilance teams of BISE Mirpurkhas have made surprise visits to the examination centres and ensure stoppage of cheating and use of unfair means.
A vigilance team headed by acting secretary of the BISE Mirpurkhas Anisuddin Siddique, members director physical education Naeem Khan, Engineer Anwer Aleem Khanzada, deputy controller examination Khalid Magsi and others carried out surprise visits to different examination centres in taluka Digri, Mirwah Gorchani and others. They caught two copy cases and one impersonator and hand over their cases to the concerned committee. The team also recovered a number of cell phones from the girls and boys candidates during surprise visits.
BISE Mirpurkhas acting secretary Anisuddin Siddique told this scribe that there were 127 examination centres in Mirpurkhas division for holding annual matriculation examination for 2016 and 31 of them were declared sensitive where more police personnel were deployed to maintain law and order.
He further said matriculation exam will continue till April 8. A total of 62779 male and female candidates were appearing in the annual exam. In 9th class exam, a total of 31437 male and female candidates are appearing and 31349 candidates are appearing in the annual exam of 10th class.
