HAFIZABAD-Hundreds of villagers of more than 24 villages located on Hafizabad-Sukheke road have expressed their grave concern over inordinate delay in the renovation of the road.

They said that due to negligence of the department, the road has developed deep depressions and potholes as a result of which it has become unmotorable. Due to the damaged condition of the road, several persons have lost their lives and limbs due to mishaps. They have called upon the Deputy Commissioner to arrange for widening and carpeting of the road without further delay to ensure safety of human lives.

Meanwhile, local clerks took out a rally to press for the acceptance of their demands. Led by Ch Nasrullah Hanjra, District President APCA and other office-bearers, the activists raised slogans against the government for indulging in delaying tactics and called upon the government to implement charter of demand without further delay otherwise the activists of APCA would staged sit-in demonstration in front of Parliament House.


Three-day spring festival concluded in the Municipal Stadium that was thronged by hundreds of men, women and children.

They praised the administration for arranging the festival to relieve them from present day rough life. The festival was arranged by the district and tehsil administration in collaboration with Divisional Art Council to promote cultural values alive as well as to provide entertainment to the masses. Different stalls including handicrafts, floral exhibition, food street etc. were arranged.

Cricket, football, volleyball, badminton matches and tug of war contests were also organised.

Prominent singers enthralled the audience. A sufi night and Heer Kahani were also held.
